1. Real-Estate Web Designers: Your Dreams Came True! |
Though virtually every industry already benefits from DB Mapper, real estate can make the most of its unique features. Among these are: interaction; powerful connectivity with any database or server technology; rapid and robust integration with existing web sites; and a complete range of geocoding solutions. |
Are you a web designer working for realtors?
We want to work with you and we have a special pricing model which should suit you. |
Basically, you pay a very low setup fee (75% off the regular license fee) and a reasonable per-realtor monthly fee, which starts at $4.95 for under 50 realtors and ends up at $0.66 for over 5,000.
If you operate a bunch of realtor web sites, the cost is so insignificant you can simply absorb it as part of your overall costs and offer superb mapping capabilities virtually for free.
We also offer several automated geocoding options: |
- |
FTP send, geocode and receive (recommended and included in the per-realtor monthly fee) |
- |
Geocoding web service. |
- |
Geocoder software licensing to geocode in-house. |
- |
You name it. |
And even if you can't, you needn't worry about it. It is part of our business to provide our customers with the solution which suits each of them better. |
Test our real-estate tools without taking any risks.
Write to us at sales@flashmaps.com and ask for a free evaluation of the whole system (DB Mapper + templates + geocoding + support) working with an actual customer of yours.
We're sure you'll love it. |
In such a competitive market, our maps have that added value which makes a customer choose one web designer over another. In fact, the selection is taking place as you read this, so why not give it a thought? |

2. Add Your Own Content on Maps |
Many of you have been asking for editing capabilities on DB Mapper allowing to draw your own subdivisions, tracks or facility boundaries, for example, as well as make notations etc.
We've implemented two different ways to do that: |
- |
Custom geometry. The new tools inside DB Mapper allow administrators (or regular users) to draw polygons, lines, circles and texts anywhere on the map. |
- |
Custom layers. Import a map screenshot inside Flash MX and use it as a guide to draw whatever you want. You may also include ActionScript programming. Its "cosmetic" layer will overlap the regular map, being as fully functional as any other Flash movie clip. |
Whether you just want to make some notations or add complex multimedia items over your map, these two new DB Mapper features turn the lengthy process of adding your own content into a breeze. |

3. More DB Mapper Enhancements |
We really love listening to your suggestions, and strive to implement them. We are constantly updating our product line, based upon in-house suggestions and customer feedback. This helps us push the limits of mapping on a daily basis. |
Below are some of DB Mapper's new features: |
- |
Multiple Address Geocoding Web Service. Geocode many addresses with only one call to the web service. |
- |
API for Container Flash Applications. A new and complete API inside DB Mapper makes it much easier to interact with it from within a container Flash application. |
- |
Highlight POIs from the XML. Just include a 'poi_highlighted="true"' attribute inside the relevant fm_poi nodes in order to specify, in the POIs XML, which POIs should be highlighted: one, several or all of them. It's up to you. |
- |
On-the-Fly Geocoding. Include POI addresses inside the POI's XML instead of their coordinates. The process takes a little longer,as the geocoding web service has to be called to calculate the coordinates. This is the perfect alternative if you are unable to geocode and store the coordinates for each POI. |
- |
Enhanced Tool Tip. Display more information when hovering over a POI. You may even include a thumbnail or any multimedia content, although we recommend not using something too large. Take a look at a sample here |
Some Other Minor Enhancements |
- |
Modify the size of map icons, if you prefer larger (or smaller) city icons and road signs. |
- |
Display or hide map icons and texts when zooming or panning. |
- |
Lower/higher graphics quality when zooming/panning. |
4. Tip of the Month: Mini-Map in Your Fact Sheets |
You may use your DB Mapper in many ways, including ways of experiencing a different look, size and "feel" of the interface.
A very useful feature consists of inserting a mini-map (200x150, for example) without any navigation tools inside a fact sheet. It gives a nice idea of the location, and you can add a link for a larger area map.
